toot toot

I don't mean to toot my own horn BUT...I'm so happy the final pattern for the Summer/Fall series is finished and in shops now! What a fun adventure this has been designing patterns, making lots of "oops" and meeting new seamsters. I'm now looking forward to finishing the next round of goodies, BOY PATTERNS!!! I have two boys so you would think that would have been the first thing on my mind but of course the cute little girls take over the brain.
Thank you girls for being fabulous and gorgeous Figgy's kids!

scrap attack

A few months ago I had a SCRAP ATTACK!
I looked over at what I thought was a little bag of scraps and to my surprise my cute little bag had become a monster of overflowing lost and lonely pieces. I knew it was time to purge. Two exciting events were coming soon and so I put my foot down and told myself I must use my poor lonely scraps for something gorgeous.

First on the list: My sister & baby Ofelia, The Baby Shower Gift!

I wanted to find a better than the best idea for my brand new niece. I decided to read through one of my favorite blogs. My sister and her husband LOVE birds and so I searched "birds" and there it was. The perfect, better than best project to please my sister and the little/big monster bag o' scraps sitting next to me growling to be used.

Next on the list: Mothers Day

My mother is beyond amazing! I would sew for her the world if I could, but for now it was a project that had to participate in the SCRAP ATTACK. My next stop was another one of my favorite blogs, Sew Mama Sew. This took a little more time to find because I had no preconceived ideas of I wanted to create. Sew Mama Sew came through for me and this little project drew me in. I changed it up a little and added the scraps of some of what I knew were moms favorite fabrics. It was a hit!

It was so fun to make I had to make one more for baby Ofelia. She hadn't arrived yet but I had to honor my sister and her first Mothers day. She loved it and now Ofelia has a new play mat!

So right when you think it's time to give up on your bag o' scraps take a minute and blog hop some of your favorite blogs or shops for some great scrap attack ideas!
Happy Sewing Seamsters!
