what's a designer to do

I have a process I try to use when I create a new pattern.
Here are just a few steps in my process:

a thought
grab a pen
get it down on pattern paper ASAP before the thought is lost
measure twice cut once
sew, seam ripper, sew, seam ripper and finally sew

My final step before sending off my design to the pattern tester, editor and photographer I have to try the sample on someone........I have two boys.........I create mostly girl clothing.
My five year old is on to me and when I need him to try something on, it usually has a price.
But, my 2 year old is clueless and enjoys every minute of spinning and jumping in my ruffled or bubbled creations. Soon he will be as old as his brother and will catch on, but for now I think I have the perfect model. I can't wait for his graduation poster day!!

inspiration

Moving can be a very stressful and even a little scary.
Thank goodness we have been so blessed to move into a home that has little "secret" tunnels and left behind treasures hidden throughout the yard but I think the very best part about moving into this house is the yard and being able to watch the Spring bloom into beauty. I hope the yard will know how much we love it and will take of it all the days to come. Come along and have a look at what has recently popped up.

My very favorite, the Poppy

Gorgeous White Lilacs

This beauty actually belongs to the neighbors behind us but it
was over the fence so I consider this one a part of the yard

We got to add these to the beauty, VEGGIES!

Yummy Tomatoes

Onions

Broccoli and Carrots

BERRIES!!

Blueberries with a touch of Lambs ear gracing the bed

The boys favorite, Strawberries

This is my most favorite treasure found in our new home.
This priceless garden stone was buried in the raised garden bed under piles of compost.
What it states is most important of all today!

family day!

Bridal Veil Falls, Oregon
If you find yourself with a few extra hours and your in Oregon.
I recommend visiting Bridal Veil. We had such a lovely hike.

Half Way Up

Gorgeous Wild Flowers

Waterfall streams

Snakes to find and stare at with amazement.

Ahh, don't forget to take a little rest on your way up.

When you reach the top, take a moment to
be in the moment and feel the grace.
